Hadrien Dussoix Swiss, b. 1975

Hadrien Dussoix (b.1975) lives and works in Geneva, Switzerland.

Soon after graduating from the Geneva school of fine arts (HEAD), Hadrien Dussoix's original and pertinent work won the prestigious Swiss Art Award (Basel) for three consecutive years between 2006 and 2008.

His eclectic productions explore the notions of appropriation, history and dialogue. Dussoix likes to build connections by higlighting differences, jumping from geometrical abstaction to street art references and mixing it all together.

"Some of my works are more introspective, radical and pictural. They question the signature, the motive, the tastes and distastes. In my work, there is no “message” per se, I am not necessarily trying to say something. I like that the work to remain open to dialogue, exchange the perception of others. It prevents me from locking myself in any form of rigidity."

Hadrien Dussoix's works have been exhibited in many Swiss and international institutions and museums including: Art en plein air, Môtiers, Switzerland; The Ocean before me, Espace le commun bâtiment d’art contemporain, Geneva, Switzerland; Switzerland GVA-BOG, Espacio Odeon, Bogota, Colombia; DREI DREI DREI, Espace LABO, Geneva; Fragments de l'Inachevé, Lieu Unique, Nantes, France; PLATEFORME(S), Centre d'art contemporain, Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland; Imago Mundi.
